The 160X 6.0 Pro, developed by Long Zhang and the Xtep team, represents a significant leap forward in marathon footwear. Launched in Xiamen and set for market release in August 2024, this shoe is engineered to meet the evolving demands of professional marathoners who seek to minimize weight without sacrificing performance. At just 171 grams, the 160X 6.0 Pro integrates an aerospace-grade carbon plate, advanced Xtep Ace midsole technology, and a custom Jacquard upper, resulting in a shoe that delivers exceptional propulsion, stability, and comfort for long-distance runners.

Key to the 160X 6.0 Pro's innovation is its pioneering use of a carbon plate crafted from polyimide fibers and eight layers of carbon fiber, a first in the global running shoe industry. This plate features a split toe design and a raised arch contour, enhancing forefoot flexibility and providing stronger propulsion. The inwardly curved sidewall design and increased heel-to-toe drop from 3mm to 5mm further improve stability, rebound, and shock absorption, ensuring secure and efficient strides for marathoners pushing their limits.

The design process, which began in May 2023, involved close collaboration with professional athletes and extensive research into biomechanics and material science. The result is a shoe that not only meets but exceeds the rigorous demands of elite runners. The 160X 6.0 Pro's lightweight midsole, durable outsole, and breathable upper work in harmony to reduce fatigue and maximize race-day performance.
