Chiaki Miyauchi's "Gems and Teeth" Collection

Chiaki Miyauchi's 18K gold lapel pins, part of the "Gems and Teeth" collaborative project, are a fusion of jewelry and dentistry, designed to introduce the mysterious dental world through exquisite jewelry. Inspired by the Rod of Asclepius, an ancient Greek symbol associated with medicine and healing, these lapel pins feature unique motifs representing various medical professions, such as a tooth for dentistry and a heart for health care.

Handmade in Italy with responsibly sourced Valcambi Swiss Gold Products, these snake lapel pins are adorned with colored gemstones, including Emerald, Sapphire, and Ruby, symbolizing healing, calmness, and passion, respectively. The lapel pins are designed to spark conversations about Greek mythology, symbolism, and ethical topics through jewelry.

Measuring 25.4mm in width, 12mm in depth, and 92mm in height, these lapel pins are a testament to exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail. The satin finish applied to the snake body adds a touch of elegance to the design.

Chiaki Miyauchi's design journey involved extensive research into ancient Greek mythology, medical history, and gem meanings, culminating in the creation of these unique lapel pins. Overcoming creative and technical challenges, the designer ensured that the lapel pins can be worn in four different styles, offering versatility for various occasions.

Chiaki Miyauchi, a jewelry designer from Kyoto-city, Japan, is the recipient of the Bronze A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category for 2023, recognizing her outstanding creativity and contribution to quality of life improvements through her designs.
