Kina Usami, a textile design student from Japan, draws inspiration from her Asian background and Czech surroundings to create a one-of-a-kind silk scarf, exhibited at prestigious events.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kina Usami, a talented textile design student at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, has crafted a remarkable silk scarf named "Oriedental." Drawing inspiration from her Japanese roots and the cultural blend in Prague, she has created a unique piece that reflects her identity.
The scarf, a part of the Studio of Textile Design's collection, showcases a fusion of Asian and Czech culture through digital print on a square silk canvas. Measuring 70 x 70 cm, the scarf is a testament to Kina's creativity and cultural influences.
Under the guidance of art director Jitka Škopová and assistant Anna Leschingerová, Kina's design was brought to life using digital print technology. The project, which commenced in March and concluded in May 2019, was later exhibited at the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, and the "Mission, vision, revision" exhibition in Prague from January to February 2020.
