ZIIIRO Unveils Lunar, a Flat Graphical Timepiece Redefining Watch Design

ZIIIRO introduces Lunar, a wrist watch designed by Dabi Robert, offering a unique and fun way to tell time. The watch features two interlocking half circles to display time, emphasizing a flat graphical approach without compromising readability. The unconventional design challenges traditional timepieces, providing a constantly changing canvas on the watch face.

The Lunar watch utilizes 316L stainless steel for the casing, with a hidden watch dial and Japanese MIYOTA Quartz movement. The design's unique properties include the use of semi-circles on solid metal discs, creating a minimalistic yet visually striking appearance. The watch is the result of a year-long project that started in 2016, with a revised version released in 2020 due to technical complications.

Robert's inspiration for Lunar stemmed from the desire to create a watch that not only tells time but also emphasizes the fun aspect of watches. The design was realized by pushing the limits of graphical minimalism, resulting in a timepiece that stands out in both form and function. The watch was exhibited at the Berlin Fashion Week, gathering feedback from a global audience and affirming its appeal to the creative industry.
