Sprout: A Unique Proposal Ring

Zha Lianghao, an automotive interior designer from Shanghai, China, has created a unique proposal ring named Sprout, which was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2023. The ring is inspired by Tagore's poem and symbolizes the budding love described in the poem. It features an organic design with a single round brilliant cut diamond, crafted using 3D printing and manual polishing, making it a simple yet memorable piece.

Sprout is a 20mm x 0.7mm x 24mm proposal ring designed by Zha Lianghao to propose to his wife. The design process began in January 2021 in Shanghai and was completed in June 2021. The ring is meant to be worn on the middle finger of the woman's left hand, resembling an ordinary engagement ring.

Zha Lianghao's design was a result of his desire to create something unique and unseen before. The ring's organic shape presented a creative and technical challenge, which was overcome through the use of 3D software, 3D printed wax molds, and manual polishing. The final product is a timeless piece of jewelry that embodies the essence of love and nature.
