Meng Ling Chung Unveils "Crash" Collection, a Unique Womenswear Line Inspired by Glitch Art, Available in S/M Sizes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Meng Ling Chung introduces "Crash," a womenswear collection inspired by the designer's personal experience with a computer crash. The collection features prints that reflect the destruction of digital files, translated into unique patterns on silk and mesh fabrics. The project commenced in January 2020 in Beijing and concluded in July 2020 in Taiwan.
Chung's innovative approach involved capturing and redesigning pixel images, disassembling and reassembling them, and carefully planning their proportions to harmonize with the human body. The resulting prints reflect the chaotic nature of glitch art, projecting 2-dimensional images onto the 3-dimensional human form.
The "Crash" collection, awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2023, offers a thought-provoking exploration of the intersection between technology, memory, and fashion, with each piece serving as a unique commemoration of the designer's past creations.
