Lu Kuan's "Zen Explorer" project, a sustainable fashion collection inspired by the depths of blue and traditional culture, wins the Silver A' Design Award in 2023.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Renowned designer Lu Kuan's "Zen Explorer" project is a sustainable fashion collection inspired by the exploration of the depths of blue and the traditional indigo textile culture. The project aims to subvert the stereotype of the fashion industry by incorporating traditional craftsmanship with contemporary upcycle design concepts, creating durable and unique clothing pieces. The project was designed and produced in 2018 and is currently on display at the 2020 China National Silk Museum.
The project utilizes mass-produced natural indigo dyed materials combined with a small amount of precious recycled vintage textiles. The production process is natural and environmentally friendly, with a focus on ethical considerations and sustainable fashion development. The collection features artistic wearable items that can also be displayed as artistic installations, with the prototype structure growing out of the original antique "Hundred Sons" blanket.
Lu Kuan's "Zen Explorer" project challenges the fashion industry by exploring the balance between sustainable fashion and new aesthetic market demands. The project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2023, recognizing its outstanding expertise, innovation, and remarkable level of excellence in sustainable fashion design.
