Renowned designer Bruce Tao unveils a modern cabinet inspired by Buddhist pagodas, revolutionizing traditional storage solutions with innovative design and functionality.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bruce Tao's latest creation, Pagoda, is a cabinet design that draws inspiration from Buddhist pagodas, reimagining the traditional concept of storage. The cabinet's unique opening mechanism, reminiscent of the rotating structure of pagodas, sets it apart from conventional designs. Crafted from red zebra horse wood, sourced from Cameroon and Gabon, Pagoda offers a blend of aesthetic appeal and functional excellence.
Measuring 50cm in length, 50cm in width, and 76cm in height, Pagoda stands out as a distinctive piece of furniture, combining traditional symbolism with modern utility. The innovative design allows users to open the cabinet by rotating it around the axis behind, maximizing storage space and providing easy access to stored items.
During the design process, the team encountered challenges related to the complex internal structure and machining qualifications. However, their dedication and expertise led to the successful realization of this groundbreaking design, which was exhibited in China in February 2021.
